According to leading Australian ICT research firm Telsyte, they’ve found that BlackBerry was the most widely implemented MDM (Mobile Device Management) solution thoughout Australia in 2013.
MDM penetration had more than doubled in Australia in 2013, with one in five businesses (with 20 or more employees) with an MDM solution in place, use BlackBerry.
Australia is seeing a substantial conversion with current enterprise customer base, with approximately 65% of migrating to or currently trialing BES10. In fact, two new prominent organizations in the public and private sector, the Australian National Audit Office and Questas, have selected BES10 for their enterprise mobility.
“Our leadership in the enterprise market continues to expand in Australia and I am delighted to see this reflected in the findings of Telsyte’s report, in which BlackBerry is named as the most widely implemented MDM solution in the country,” said Matthew Ball, Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand at BlackBerry, whom I had the pleasure of speaking with yesterday.
“While we continue to win the trust of Australian government departments, we are also seeing significant traction in other regulated and private industries that want to enable workforce mobility with multiple devices, while maintaining company IP and data is protected and secure. We are looking forward to working with our partners and customers in the region in 2014 as we continue BlackBerry’s global enterprise momentum,” Ball added.
Mr. Ball has had an illustrious track record, with past experience working for Microsoft’s Xbox in marketing and later in telecommunications, such as Optus, throughout Australia.
One quote by Matthew Ball, which has resonated the most to me: “There’s a difference between learning how to do it in a university [and] to owning it, living and breathing it and being accountable for the outcomes.”
Ball and team have clearly exemplified their hard-work by successfully positioning BlackBerry as the gold standard in security and solution for Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) to organizations within Australia.
