The BlackBerry Z3 will be available in just a couple of weeks in Malaysia, specifically on July 7th, and will cost 699 MYR, which roughly translates to $217 USD.

New BlackBerry Devices in FY2015 Z3 LTE, Classic and Passport

During the special meeting today after the initial earnings call where BlackBerry beat street estimates of performance. BlackBerry is padding the good news train with a tease of 3 devices for fiscal year 2015 aka most of calendar 2014.

Pictured we see the much rumored Passport device a 4.5inch QWERTY phablet that sizes up much like an actual passport. The device will come out in Black and White and have a rich accessory ecosystem for end-users to take advantage of. The once named Q20 which has been renamed as the BlackBerry Classic to bridge the BB10 and BBOS user bases an of course the Z3 which is set to launch with an LTE variant with added RAM by the end of this year.

Overall these new devices will keep people looking forward as BlackBerry works tirelessly to deliver on their commitments and hyper focus on on enterprise mobility software, services and hardware.

BlackBerry Z3 launching in India on June 25th

BlackBerry has started sending out press invitations to a Z3 launch event in India on June 25th, which is next week. The BlackBerry Z3 device which was announced earlier this year at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona has seen good reception in Indonesia and with reviewers around the world.

The tight-knit launch we saw in Indonesia with local highlights will likely be rebuilt for the Indian market. Working closely in these key markets will be a strong show of how Chen and his management teams want to bring in new hardware. IF the uptick in Z3 sales replicates in other markets than Chen may we well on his way to increasing market share in growing mobile regions.

As more information surrounding upcoming launches comes fourth we’ll certainty be keeping up to date with the latest. It’s also suggested that BlackBerry is seeking to bring the Z3 to Vietnam and Malaysia as well, moving efficiently to hit these market targets shows BlackBerry is focused on making the device a success.

BlackBerry Z3 Shows Up in Malaysian Database through Brightstar Distribution Partner

Malaysia SIRIMS corporate systems show the Z3, namely the Z3 STJ100-1 is showing approved as of May 14th. Coincidentally, this is the same day that the Z3 device was launched in Indonesia.

Clearly, BlackBerry is working to line up the channels and amass a more widespread launch of the Z3 device in other markets. We suspect that key market targets will be in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and even South Africa. Other markets like Latin America could perhaps get an LTE variant down the line as well, assuming the general reception remains strong.

Limited BlackBerry Z3, Jakarta Edition available exclusively to Indonesian customers

Over the weekend we discovered that Indonesian customers were able to pre-order the BlackBerry Z3. BlackBerry today officially announced that customers in Indonesia can now pre-order the BlackBerry Z3 smartphone through leading telecommunications operators in Indonesia, Indosat and XL. BlackBerry expects the device to be priced at IDR 2,199,000. The official unveiling of BlackBerry Z3 is scheduled to take place in Jakarta on May 13th, 2014. BlackBerry also announced today the availability of a limited edition model – the BlackBerry Z3, Jakarta Edition – which will be made available to Indosat and XL customers for a limited period. This model will feature the inscription “Jakarta” on the back of the device to commemorate the launch of the first BlackBerry smartphone built specifically for the Indonesia market.

Pre-orders Begin for BlackBerry Z3 Jakarta in Indonesia

Retailers in Indonesia is now accepting BlackBerry Z3 pre-orders. Elevenia in Indonesia is offering a limited time pre-order price of Rp 1.650.000 for the XL plan. The official release of the Z3 as we know have been push to May but this do not seem to stop retailers from accepting pre-orders.

This would mean the Z3 is priced at only $142 USD for the pre-order promotion. When the promotion ends, the Z3 will be available for Rp 2.200.00 or $189 USD. The pre-order promotion looks to be only valid from April 22nd – May 7th, 2014. So for those in Indonesia hurry up grab this opportunity to get a Z3 at promotion price now.

Alleged BlackBerry Z3 renders and specs surface!

Today, N4BB posted some alleged renders of the Jakarta, which they say could hit the market has the BlackBerry Z3. Following that, BBin posted some rumored specs for the device, as follows:

Display – 5″ display, 540 x 960 pixels, 24-bit color LCD display

Memory – 8 GB application storage and 1.5 GB RAM

Processor – 1.2 GHz dual-core processor

Battery – 2650 mAh non-removable battery

Rear-facing camera: 5 MP Autofocus and flash, 5x digital zoom

Front-facing camera: 1.1 MP Fixed-focus, 3x digital zoom

With a phone like this, what matters more than specs is the price you can buy it at outright. We’ve seen low-cost Android handsets and even Nokia Lumia devices pick up a decent chunk of market share at this end of the market. A Z3 at a $150 or even up to $200 price point could be pretty darn compelling, and a great deal given the rumored 5″ display and BIG battery.

The chairman of Foxconn previously let it slip out that the device they’re working with BlackBerry to build could be unveiled at Mobile World Congress, which is just over a week away. Given the closeness to the event, we may not have to wait too long to find out whether these rumors are true or not.

One thing that is certain is that I will be making the trip to Barcelona for MWC. If anything gets announced or released, I’ll be on the ground to bring it back to you with a hands-on first look and plenty of details.
